Are the Fancy Kitty drum carders any good? I will say an unqualified YES!!!
Not only is Ron a great person to deal with, he builds a beautiful
piece of equipment that is also a true piece of art!
I received the roving carder I had him build for me and would not trade
it or sell it for a lot more than I paid. It is AWESOME!
Truly a craftsman that understands fiber arts.
Louise
Your work if amazing. Thank you so much for great works of functional art. Honya
The crochet hook display stand arrived today. It is beautiful and I am delighted with
it. Thank you for the prompt shipping.
The drum carder is fantastic. I haven't written about it on my blog yet for fear that my friends are going to
want to borrow it! It is NOT leaving my home! Feel free to pass along the address to anyone looking for a
review.
I love your crochet hooks! They really feel so much better in my arthritic hands! Thanks again. Cheryl

Will leave positive feedback for you on eBay.

Received the hooks and stand today. I must say I am thrilled with the quality, you are a true craftsman.
More importantly my wife is stunned and is already using them to crochet a small blanket. If the wife is
happy then all is right with the world. Thank you again, and don’t be surprised if we order from you in the
future. Deron
Arrived home to find the new I hook and want to thank you so much. Of course, I found the other one but,
that's okay as I use the I hook a lot. I really like the shape and feel of your hooks and use them all the
time. Pat
Hi Ron, I received my hooks today. They are really beautiful & even better in person than in your photos! I
have every intention of buying more! Thanks!! Anita
I'm happy to announce that I got my hooks all safe and sound!! Can you
tell how excited I am?? LOL!! I've been checking my mailbox for the past
2 days as I had a feeling they would be arriving anytime this week
before the festive season. I've left feedback and I'm back for more hooks. Thank you so much for
this wonderful transaction, Ron! Cheers, ~ LiL ~ from sunny and festive Singapore!
My daughter called, SO happy! It's going to work with her to show everyone at the nursing home. Your
hard work made both our days and I wish they could give more space on feedback. Thank you for your
extra effort, Laura
Customer recommendation to a potential customer on the Fancy Kitty drum carder:
Hi Shana,
The drum carder has honestly exceeded my expectations. The quality of his woodworking is excellent. (I
am a former woodworker, so I examined all the details.) It is STURDY.
I had never used a carding machine before, and this was exceptionally easy to use. It was well-packaged
and arrived in perfect condition. It was running fiber through it within 10 minutes of opening the box. The
cranking mechanism is easy on the hands and shoulder. I started with experimenting with merino wool,
and then added silk to it in a contrasting color. Again, I am a novice, but found the capability and quality
outstanding. As I had said to Ron, I can't write a review or tell any of my friends about the carder
because they'll all want to borrow it, and that's not going to happen! This is a wonderful tool, and it's not
getting shared!
The batts I've been able to produce are about maybe an inch or so think when they initially come off the
machine. Within a couple of minutes, the fluff right up to around 2 inches. it's amazing. And the fiber is
perfectly straight. I do run it through for a total of three times, but I tend to be a perfectionist. When it
came time to spinning the fiber, I ALWAYS test it first on my drop spindle. This gives me an idea of the
amount of drafting I'll need to do, weight of the fibers, etc. No problem there. When I got to the wheel, that
was the true test. The fibers flew through my fingers. There was no hesitation as you'd expect from
rovings. I just lay the batt on my lap and pulled off long, even sections and spun from there.
As far as cashmere and angora, I honestly can't say. For the more than 10 pounds of superfine merino,
alpaca, corriedale, and silk, I've had NO troubles or complaints. Well, the only complaint is the obsession,
but that's the nature of the craft.
In short, I am EXTREMELY happy with this carder and would buy another without hesitation. It's easy to
operate, easy to clean, and the style and workmanship are an art themselves. And the fiber that comes off
of it are perfect. If you want to see an sample of my spinning, check out http://www.cabincove.com and
scroll down on the page, and go to the next page to see all the yarn I've been making. I take my fiber
seriously, and I also run a business from it.
I hope that helps with your decision, and good luck. Feel free to get in touch with me if you have any
other questions.
Dave
Hi Ron,
I received the spinner today and have already finished spinning the bit of wool you sent with it. It is very
easy and simple to use (my first try at spinning) and your directions were perfect for a beginner.
In case I have not told you (I tend to not email often), I use your hooks on a daily basis and I love them. I
often have 3-4 projects going at once so I don't get bored. I know you are probably wondering why
anyone would need more than one of each size hook. I leave the hook I'm using with each project so I
always know I'm using the right size hook when I pick it back up again.
I appreciate the smoothness of the finish on your hooks. Sometimes the throat on the hooks is not as
smooth as I like to work with. I just smooth them a little more with a series of fine to polishing grade nail
boards. Because you don't seem to use a varnish, the hooks never show my crude little adjustment to my
working taste.
I have multiple sclerosis and use crocheting as a kind of physical therapy hoping to keep dexterity in my
hands as long as possible. Having your tools to use makes my efforts both aesthetically rewarding as well
as comfortable. Thank you for your skill and the beauty of the wood.
Sincerely,
Melanie
Hi Ron, and everyone at Fancy Kitty~~ I was a loyal e-bay customer of yours some time ago, and was
thrilled to get this message from you about the new website! Thank you. You can bet I will be stopping by
often to check out your goods! I also swelled with pride when I saw your review in Crochet Today
magazine, in knowing I was already the proud owner of some of your items. It seemed nice to have
confirmed a little more publicly, what I already knew personally, that I had found some quality products,
and a wonderful vendor! It's nice to know where to find you now, besides e-bay.
I got the order of hooks and they are wonderful. Works of art, excellent
craftsmanship and a real pleasure to use. They are the best. I'll be back
for more.
Cheers,
Barbara
From a customer about a Howard Brush David triple drum carder
Howard Brush Company-
Several months ago, I purchased your David Drum carder and I have to tell you how very, very pleased I
am with it.
As a spinning teacher and fiber artist I have used all types of drum carders, from garage sale antiques to
the most expensive. In my book, the David produces a batt that ranks with the best.
Not only does it do a fantastic job on carding fine to medium wool, but it works well for blending. It is sturdy
(great for me as I take it on the road when I teach), affordable and an excellent option for the fiber artist
who wants a 3 cylinder carder.
Thank you for a great product!

Dear Ron,
Donn forwarded your message to me so that I could tell you how very pleased we both are with my new wool
picker. It arrived safe and sound. Your packing materials are excellent, and the weight of your box is perfect.
There was one small “ding” in the box – impressive given the weight and distance of the shipment.
We had a wonderful time unpacking and assembling the picker last night. Your instructions were quite clear
and all was as expected.
The picker is beautifully and expertly made and works like a dream!! Donn is a luthier (baroque violins,
primarily) and enjoyed looking at the beautiful flaming of the maple on the upright portion of the picker. We
are both pleased and impressed with the quality and workmanship. I have bookmarked the Fancy Kitty website
for future reference.
All the best!
Many thanks!
Kelly
About Crochet Hook Display
I got my crochet hook holder and hooks yesterday and they are so beautiful! I love all of it - the holder is so nice
and the hooks are gorgeous - thanks so much for making such nice things at such reasonable prices. I will be
back - I still have 5 spaces in my stand for hooks! I am attaching a couple of pics of the holder with my hooks in
it! Thanks again - and I will be back!
Ron
The picker arrived last week, and I am soo happy with it. I am very impressed with the quality craftmanship.
You make these pickers to last a lifetime. I am having so much fun picking through my fibers. You were right,
I don't know how I got along without this thing. Lots and lots of wasted time picking by hand.
Thanks so much.
Rebecca
RON,
Your Fancy Kitty wool pricker arrived & It's sitting on the dining room table right now! Our anniversary is today (#
14) and she's really happy with it. She's afraid to touch it yet though because she's afraid she won't stop using it
today and she has a test on Tuesday she has to study for. :-) My compliments on your craftsmanship by the way
(I'm a home shop woodworker). First rate.
Hi Ron. The wool picker is awesome, the carder made my husband drool with envy over the incredible
workmanship and attention to detail…and of course I totally love the crochet hook. I just recommended your site
to my Yahoo crochet group as someone had asked a question about wooden hooks, so if you see a sudden
influx in new hook orders—you’ll know why! J

About Fancy Kitty Bench Wool Picker
Hi Ron,
Been very busy on the farm, it looks like Spring may have finally made it up here.
Your picker works fantastic on Pygora!!!! I love it, and this will save me a lot of time. I use it slowly, in order not
to rip through the fiber, and it is very kind to the fiber that way. I also am looking forward to blending with this
picker.
I will tell the fiber community around here about your picker, and have already shown it to several other Pygora
Goat farmers here in Minnesota.
Also, the hour glass spindle is so fun. I had it mastered in about 10 minutes, and it is helping me with the long
draw method. I will be showing this to the spinning classes I teach in the Fall.
Thank you for making such great products, and I will shop again.
I will send a photo via email showing how well it processes Pygora fiber.
Very Happy,
Sue
