Fancy Kitty LITTLE TOM WIDE motorized Drum Carder
She and I Designs and Fancy Kitty Products are pleased to announce our newest addition to our line of drum carders... the Little Tom Wide motorized drum carder.
-Overview-
This Little Tom Wide is a motorized drum carder using the same 17" wide x 36" circumference swift, licker, feed tray, and tung oil finish as the Fancy Kitty Big Tom Wide. It uses the same drive system as the Fancy Kitty Kitten.
The motor kit uses a high quality gear head motor. This allows for great torque (turning power) at a very slow speed. It features speed control and reverse. It uses a tooth belt & pulley system that replaces the hand crank. It has the strength of a chain drive but without the noise & maintenance.
The main difference between our Little Tom Wide and our Big Tom Wide is the Big Tom has two motors and this Little Tom has one motor.
The main frame is 5.5" tall and the total height of the Little Tom Wide with the motorization kit is approximately is 19". The length is the same as the standard "Little Tom" at 22.5" long . The width is 22 inches and it weighs in at 50 pounds.
This carder comes standard with a brush attachment and has a single-motor motorization Kit that is functionally the same as the “Little Tom standard" motorization kit. so you will have some added height.
The Little Tom Wide has the same 4 to 1 feed to card ratio as the “Little Tom Standard”. No clamps required, and you can card in the middle of a table. It is constructed with 3/4" solid American red oak & has a gorgeous Tung Oil finish.
The Little Tom Wide features a 17" wide, 12" tall swift equipped with various options of tpi carding cloth standard, which will create a batt approximately 17" wide and 36" long. The Licker-in is also available in various options of tpi carding cloth. This allows you to choose the tpi that best meets you fiber carding needs. You choose this in a drop down menu as you ad this carder to the cart.
Both axles run in sealed ball bearings for super smooth & maintenance free operation.
We offer an auxiliary drum assembly that can be changed by removing and reinstalling the four swift adjusting screws. It is an option available in the following available cloth densities: 54, 72, 90, 120 tpi. This means you can card any type fiber with ONE drum carder.
