Our small 4' blending brush is made entirely from 3/4" Baltic Birch veneers. this brush comes with fine brush cloth and is available in teeth up or teeth down. Giving you the option of personalizing the brush to your specific fiber needs. Please specify your choice when ordering.
The Little Tom is a manually operated drum carder using the same 17" wide x 38" circumference swift, licker, feed tray, and tung oil finish as the Fancy Kitty Big Tom Wide. It uses the same drive system as the Fancy Kitty Kitten.
The frame is 5.5" tall and the total height of the Little Tom is 13.5". The length is the same as the powered dual motor Big Tom at 22.5" long, and weighs 38 pounds.
This carder comes standard with a brush attachment and has an optional single-motor motorization Kit that is functionally the same as the “Little Tom” motorization kit....please see our other listings. All "Tom" carders come with a thorough instruction manual, an 8" x 3" burnishing brush, doffer hook, and several other helpful tools. We've also widened the space between the carding drum and the carder frame for extra ease when removing any fallen tangled fiber.
The Little Tom has the same 4 to 1 feed to card ratio as the “Kitten”. No clamps required, and you can card in the middle of a table. It is constructed with 3/4" solid American red oak & has a gorgeous Tung Oil finish. It is 22.5" long, 19" wide, and 13.5" tall.
The Little Tom features a 17" wide, 12" tall swift equipped with the carding cloth of your choice, which will create a batt 17 inches wide and 38 inches long. The Licker-in is equipped with coordinating tpi carding cloth.
Both axles run in sealed ball bearings for super smooth & maintenance free operation.
We offer an auxiliary drum assembly that can be changed by removing and reinstalling the four swift adjusting screws. It is an option available in the following available cloth densities: 54, 72, 90, 120 tpi. This means you can card any type fiber with ONE drum carder.
