The Kitten Wide drum carder uses a 17" wide x 22" circumference swift, licker, and feed tray, all with a lovely tung oil finish. It uses the same drive system as the Fancy Kitty Kitten.
The frame is 5.5" tall and the total height of the Kitten Wide is 12". The length is 15", and the weight is 17 pounds.
This carder comes standard with a brush attachment and a single-motor motorization Kit that is functionally the same as the “Little Tom” motorization kit. The carder's optional motor kit will accept voltages of 90v-270v, 50 or 60Hz, but will require a plug adapter to change the plug from the North American style to the European style electrical plug. Carder will operate from 12v DC with a very slight modification and pull less than 100 watts at maximum speed.The Kitten Wide motor kit uses the same motor as the Little Tom.
The Kitten wide also comes with a thorough instruction manual, an 8" x 3" burnishing brush, doffer hook, and several other handy tools. We've also widened the space between the carding drum and the carder frame for extra ease when removing any fallen tangled fiber.
The Kitten Wide has the same 4 to 1 feed to card ratio as the “Kitten”. It is constructed with 3/4" solid American red oak & has a gorgeous Tung Oil finish. It is 15" long, 20" wide, and 12" tall.
The Kitten Wide features a 17" wide, 8" tall swift equipped with the carding cloth combination of your choice, which will create a batt 22" long.
Both axles run in sealed ball bearings for super smooth & maintenance free operation.
We offer an auxiliary drum assembly that can be changed by removing and reinstalling the four swift adjusting screws. This means you can card any type fiber with ONE drum carder.
